How to install Office LTSC 2021

This article contains a step-by-step guide on how to install Office LTSC 2021 on Windows.

Download

Visit https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=49117 to download and run the Office Deployment Tool (ODT). Choose your language and select Download

Right click the downloaded file and run as administrator

Accept the Terms & Conditions

Extract the file to a location of your choosing, in our example we’ve opted for the Desktop. This is relevant for the installation process using the Command Prompt (CMD)

Once the files have been extracted, navigate to the containing folder. Open the “configuration-Office2021Enterprise” XML file in Notepad. Right-click on the file > Open with > Notepad. If Notepad isn’t available, select Choose another app and select Notepad from the list.

Replace the contents with the extract below

In the Example above, we are installing Office LTSC Standard 2021, if it is necessary to install another version or a different product, change the Product ID: <Product ID=”Desired Product ID”>

Should you need to install a different language pack, change the Language ID: <Language ID=”Desired Language tag” />

If you need to install the files on a device that is isolated from the internet, copy or move the files to the appropriate machine and continue the same process from here.

Install

Open Command Prompt (CMD) as an administrator

Navigate to the folder containing the extracted files, in this example it is the Desktop.

cd Desktop
setup /download configuration-Office2021Enterprise.xml

You won’t receive any confirmation of progress except for a new link appearing on the command prompt. When it does, start the installation by running the following command

setup /configure configuration-Office2021Enterprise.xml

The installation will start immediately
